Acupuncture
Acupuncture is another important piece of the health puzzle.
Acupuncture is an ancient art that dates back to around 6000 BCE, when sharpened bones and stones were first used. Over time this practice has evolved to incorporate the use of very fine, sterile needles. These needles are then placed along the body’s energetic pathways, also known as meridians, to help encourage the smooth flow of qi (energy) and improve circulation.
Modern science now confirms what ancient healers long believed – that acupuncture helps the body return into a state of balance and equilibrium. Regular treatments have been shown to help calm the nervous system, reduce inflammation, and trigger the release of natural endorphins – your body’s own pain relievers and mood boosters. At its core, acupuncture helps unlock blocked pathways and supports your body’s natural ability to heal itself.

Conditions Dr. Breanna works with…
Dr. Breanna has been trained to treat a wide spectrum of conditions as listed below:
What to wear
- Choose loose, breathable clothing so points on your arms, legs, and back are easy to access
What to do before appointment
- Avoid stimulants like caffeine or alcohol
- Have a light meal or snack (the key is not too full, not too hungry)
What happens during a session
- Your first visit includes an in-depth intake so Dr. Breanna can better understand your health history and goals
- Once needles are placed, needles stay in for about 30 minutes – long enough for a full qi circuit and for your body to enter a restorative state. Most people find these sessions to be a calming experience and can even fall asleep. Needles are very thin – and most people barely feel them.
- Sessions last about an hour in total.
- Questions are always welcome – your comfort is her top priority
What to do after your appointment
- Drink lots of water and keep hydrated
- No vigorous exercise or strenuous activity for the rest of the day
