Chiropractor

Dr. Rebecca-Jane McAllister is an evidence-based chiropractor who’s passionate about providing exceptional and quality care to her patients through manual treatment, education, and rehabilitation exercises.

When creating an individualized treatment plan, Dr. Rebecca considers her professional experiences working with patients across the country, current research recommendations, and of course, each patient’s preferences. Dr. Rebecca’s treatment options include spinal/extremity joint manipulation therapy, soft tissue therapy, contemporary medical acupuncture, exercise rehabilitation, education and advice, self-management strategies, custom orthotics, and kinesiotaping. Dr. Rebecca is also registered as a PaRx prescriber – meaning she can write you a “nature prescription” to take advantage of the Park Prescriptions program.

Dr. Rebecca, as a chiropractor, is also listed among the qualified health professionals who can complete medical questionnaire forms for the Veterans Affairs Canada Disability Program, allowing Veterans access to Disability Benefits (financial recognition for the impact service-related injury or disease has on a Veteran’s life) if their application is approved by Veterans Affairs Canada. Additionally, Dr. Rebecca, as a chiropractor, is among the qualified healthcare professionals who can approve the Parking Placard Application for Persons with Disabilities – which allows people who cannot walk 50 metres (164 feet) to use disabled parking stalls.

Dr. Rebecca is also currently one of five chiropractors in Calgary certified to offer the GLA:D Back Program, an international research study and program designed by researchers and therapists at the University of Southern Denmark inpartnership with the University of Alberta, to help people with persistent or recurrent low back pain.

She will soon be a certified Complete Concussion Management™ Practitioner and offer baseline concussion testing for individuals and teams. Concussion care is available for both chronic and acute concussions.

About Dr. Rebecca

Dr. Rebecca believes it is imperative that her patients possess the self-confidence, and are equipped with the tools, to be active participants and self-advocates for
their healthcare. Dr. Rebecca endeavours to empower her patients to live a balanced and healthy lifestyle.

Dr. Rebecca is passionate about helping people feel better, move better, and live fuller lives. Over the years, she has worked with patients in diverse settings across
Canada, including PEI, Ontario, the Northwest Territories, and Alberta. She brings a deep understanding of how lifestyle, physical function, and education intersect
to support lasting health.

Dr. Rebecca defines herself as a lifelong learner and a leader through service to others. In 2019, Dr. Rebecca participated in a chiropractic outreach to the
Dominican Republic, treating over 1,100 patients alongside her peers and colleagues in areas where access to healthcare is limited. This experience
deepened her appreciation for the burden of muscle, nerve, bone, and joint pain while concurrently emphasizing the importance of a collaborative, compassionate, and interprofessional approach to care, which she brings into her practice every day.

Dr. Rebecca also contributes to the chiropractic profession as a member of the Board of Directors for the Chiropractic Association of Alberta.

Outside the clinic, Dr. Rebecca enjoys spending time with friends and family, reading with a cup of coffee in hand, and exploring the outdoors.

Education

Dr. Rebecca graduated from the University of Windsor with her Bachelor of Human Kinetics Honours [Major: Movement Science Co-op & Minor: Psychology] degree. She then completed her Doctor of Chiropractic degree at the Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College. Additionally, she’s earned her certification in Contemporary Medical Acupuncture from McMaster University. Throughout her post-secondary education, Dr. Rebecca has received several scholarships and awards for academic achievement, philanthropy and service work, as well as research endeavours.

Special Focus

While Dr. Rebecca treats a wide range of muscle, nerve, bone, and joint conditions, she has a special interest in helping patients manage persistent low back pain, including disc herniations and sciatica.
