It was big news in early July when our government announced FREE access to our national parks as part of the Canada Strong Pass.
As captured in the Calgary Herald online, “for Albertans and others visiting some of our nearest and dearest destinations, including Banff, Jasper and Waterton national parks, it will not come with a price tag this summer with admission to Canada’s national parks is being waived. From June 20 to Sept. 2, all four national parks in Alberta that usually charge a fee will be free to enter, as will a historic site and museum in Banff and Bar U Ranch, a historic site south of Calgary.”
This access comes to a close shortly but a little known fact is that some health practitioners are able to prescribe the OUTDOORS year round! It was exciting for our clinic when several of our practitioners became able to offer eligible patients and clients access to national park passes FREE OF CHARGE when they became a Nature Prescriber with PaRx.
Please take a minute to familiarize yourself with this program and read through Dr. Rebecca’s informative and knowledgeable BLOG from her website. See if this program could apply to you. Then check back with your ABHC practitioner to see if the next 12 months of national park access is accessible to you.
Besides Dr. Rebecca, we also have Dr. Taylor, Dr. Annie and Alison able to prescribe Park Prescriptions. More questions? Please book a Complimentary Meet & Greet appointment (either virtual or in-person) with Dr. Rebecca.
Come talk and then get outside!
